Health Warriors Wanted
Now, more than ever, people need effective and accessible practices for wellness that addresses more than just the physical condition. Our communities and especially our children need caring guides who can help them make better choices that incorporate accessible, nurturing personal wellness practices, moving them away from lifestyles that are so heavily influenced by mass-marketed, corporate-designed diets and activities.
The Living in Rhythm OHANA (Organic, Holistic, And Nurturing Arts) retreat and symposium offers practitioners an opportunity to share their passions with like-minded individuals who represent a new generation of wellness facilitators. Using evidence-based practices, we will develop our capacity for health by identifying and experiencing; an intelligent diet, expressive exercise, active music making, visual arts, and health education. Experience the Ohana (family) of Healing Practices and contribute to a new model of wellness for our communities, our children, and our planet.
We deepen our connection to the SOURCE of wellness through:
• Organic Music Making (OMM)
• Slow Yoga
• Expressive Movement and Art
• Poetry, Journaling, and Council
• An Intelligent Diet

About the Kalani Oceanside Retreat Center
If you want to experience the Hawaii "that once was" — then look no further than the 120-acre Kalani Oceanside Resort Center on the Big Island of Hawaii. It's a dreamy, laid-back, unpretentious place designed for the same people who patronize yoga centers and meditation camps on the mainland. Some 30 years old, it still follows the gentle precepts of its founder: a mainly vegetarian cuisine (but with lots of fresh fish), yoga and tai chi everywhere, supportive and peaceful guests who follow their bliss, and simple but adequate accommodations. A typical dinner starts with coconut squash soup, then features seared ahi with pineapple salsa, baked tempeh, quinoa with sunflower seeds, broccoli stir-fry and cucumber salad, and ends with lemon ginger cake. Invigorate your day with morning Yoga. Walk on a nearby beach and let the waves carry your stress away. Schedule a message or Dolphin swim. Breathe in some of the most delicious air on the planet. Play your flute to the moon and stars. Create rhythms that speak to your soul and learn to listen with your entire being. Dance into the night with other playful spirits who share your vision of a lifestyle aligned to the rhythm of wellness.
