Rhythm Spirit
Rhythm Spirit is Kalani’s latest CD. It features ten tracks of uplifting world music, performed and recorded in the spirit of bands like Santana. The music is based in the traditions of West African, Brazil, and the Caribbean and features powerful grooves, uplifting melodies, and spirited performances by world-class musicians. Rhythm Spirit is dedicated to the late Babatunde Olatunji, who’s vision and dream was to unite people through the power and beauty of drumming and dance. Rhythm Spirit honors Baba by carrying on the tradition of using drumming as a tool to help people unit and celebrate. Every song on this CD is a celebration of the human spirit, a testimonial to the power of rhythm, and a tribute to drummers, dancers, and lovers of world music. All tracks are performed by live musicians to give this CD a sound that isreminiscent of the power bands of the 70′s and 80′s. Listen to these three tunes. If you like what you hear, purchase the CD through CD Baby or iTunes.
