About Kalani
Kalani Das, MT-BC
Kalani presents workshops, training programs, and classes all over the world. He has published over eleven books, released three solo CDs, and regularly publishes educational content on his three YouTube channels (World Drum Club, The Ukulele Club, and Kalani Music.)
Kalani is a professional Percussionist who has worked with the likes of Barry Manilow, Yanni, Rod Stuart, Kenny Logins, Jon Mayall, and others. He can be heard on Movie and TV sound tracks by Disney, Warner Bros., Tri-Star, Jim Hensen Records, The Nature Company and Paramount.
Kalani provides Music Therapy Services in the Los Angeles Area and specializes in TBI and Addiction Recovery. In addition to his work as a performing musician, he is an Orff-Certified Music Educator who works with children of all ages and presents at music education conferences across the US and beyond. His "World Rhythms" program is a favorite in the "World Music" genre, influencing thousands of music teachers, facilitators, and therapists.
Kalani is the creator of the Developmental Community Music approach, as presented in the book/dvd Together in Rhythm. The DCM Approach is currently incorporated by hundreds of music facilitators and teachers. His book, The Way of Music is used in University Music Therapy programs and continues to be influential in clinical improvisation studies and practice.
Kalani teaches Percussion, Ukulele, and Native American-Style Flute. He co-hosts Flute Harvest and Flute Aloha (Retreats) and is a member of the teaching staff at the Solstice Flute Camp.
Kalani presents a Live Streaming series on the World Drum Club YouTube channel, Tuesday Museday, where he creates music, talks about music and instruments, and answers questions from the participants. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and enjoys Classic Cars, Scuba Diving, and Good Food.
